Our company leverages years of experience, expertise, and a strong network to secure targeted college placements for aspiring student-athletes in the U.S. At the same time, we provide guidance and support to their families from day one until graduation.
Our mission is to offer talented athletes an alternative path to opportunities that their local sports and academic systems cannot provide.
AZ Sport Scholarships was founded by Aris Zafeiratos, a former student-athlete who earned a sports scholarship to study Sports Marketing and Management at U.S. universities. Drawing from his own academic and athletic journey, Aris now helps young, talented athletes follow a similar path and turn their dreams into reality.
Recognizing the strong interest from top U.S. university programs in Greek and Cypriot athletes, Aris founded AZ Sport Scholarships in September 2018. He assembled a highly qualified team dedicated to guiding young athletes and their families from start to finish, helping them secure the best possible scholarship and embark on an unforgettable student-athlete journey.
Aris Zafeiratos began his journey with Panathinaikos FC’s renowned grassroots academy, joining at just five years old. Over 12 years, he earned individual and team accolades, secured a spot on the Athens Regional Team, and represented Greece at the U-17 National Team level. He later played for clubs such as Panerythraikos, Nea Ionia, Ethnikos Piraeus, Doxa Vyrona, and Proodeftiki.
However, his true turning point came in 2009 when he was offered a sports scholarship at Bryant & Stratton College. After graduating from Filothei High School, he embarked on his student-athlete journey in the U.S.—an experience that would shape his future and define his passion for helping young athletes achieve their dreams.
His performances caught the attention of Indiana University, where he earned a full sports scholarship to join the Indiana Hoosiers—one of the top programs in the NCAA. There, he elevated his game to the highest level, celebrating the prestigious NCAA National Championship in 2012 and completing his studies in Sports Marketing and Management.
On scholarship with the UIC Flames, Aris played a standout season, helping the team achieve its most wins since 1957. Alongside his teammates, he clinched the Horizon League Conference title and reached the Horizon League Cup final.
At UIC, he concluded his athletic career and shifted his focus to academics, pursuing a master's degree in Educational Studies with a concentration in Instructional Leadership. Returning to Greece in 2014, he set out to bridge the gap between Greek athletes and U.S. college recruiting, dedicated to helping young talent experience the same journey and achieve even greater success.
Even though he is now dedicated to his business venture, his passion for football remains, keeping him active at a competitive level.
Staying committed to his mission of securing sports scholarships for talented athletes, he guided his first group to U.S. universities.
Over the years, his dedication has helped many more athletes turn their dreams of studying and competing in the U.S. into reality.
After successfully placing his first athletes in multiple universities, he founded AZ Sport Scholarships in 2018, aiming to provide expert guidance and opportunities for talented student-athletes pursuing scholarships in the U.S. college system.
